SAINT PAUL, MN –Rep. Erin Murphy’s (DFL-64A) big week continued today with the announcement that she has received the endorsement from OutFront Minnesota, a leading organization fighting for equal opportunities, protections and rights for the LGBTQ community. As House Majority Leader, Rep. Murphy helped lead efforts to pass one of the nation’s strongest anti-bullying laws and the freedom to marry.
Rep. Murphy released the following statement.
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of OutFront Minnesota,” said Murphy. “I’m proud of the work we’ve done together to pass marriage equality and anti-bullying legislation, but there is still more work to be done. Together, we can work to ban the destructive practice of conversion therapy and eradicate bigotry and violence aimed at trans and non-binary Minnesotans. No Minnesotan should feel unsafe or discriminated against because of who they love or how they identify and as governor I’ll stand with the LGBTQ community to make sure everyone feels welcome in our state.”
In their release, OutFront Minnesota stated:
“We believe that Representative Erin Murphy is the best candidate for Governor, that she will lead Minnesota forward on LGBTQ liberation, and that she will execute a model of people centered governing that will bring marginalized communities to the center of important policy decisions that affect us.”
