SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL-64A), former Majority Leader in the Minnesota House of Representatives and DFL candidate for governor, announced the endorsement of Emily Larson, Mayor of Duluth. This endorsement adds to the over 60 state and local leaders who have endorsed Murphy.
“Duluth and Northeast Minnesota need a partner in the Governor’s office who both understands our unique needs and looks out for all Minnesotans – that’s Erin Murphy,” said Emily Larson, Mayor of Duluth. “What you first notice about Erin is that she listens and asks questions. Her background as a nurse and legislative leader make her a passionate leader who assesses the challenges we face, reaches out to collaborate, asks what’s needed, and then pitches in to get the job done. Erin’s everywhere – her energy and commitment to Minnesota are what’s needed to win in November.”
“It is a true honor to receive the support of Emily Larson, an inclusive and visionary leader for her community and our state,” said Rep. Murphy. “As Governor, I look forward to partnering with Emily to build a bright future for every Minnesotan by investing in our schools, supporting working people, and ensuring that every Minnesotan has healthcare they can count on.”
Mayor Larson’s endorsement adds to Murphy’s growing list of support from Duluth, including Senator Erik Simonson, Representative Liz Olson, former Lieutenant Governor and State Senator Yvonne Prettner Solon, and seven Duluth city council and school board members.
Murphy has also earned the support of the Minnesota Nurses Association, WomenWinning, NARAL, the DFL Latino Caucus, the DFL Disability Caucus, and the state and Twin Cities chapters of Our Revolution.
