SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, Rep. Erin Murphy (DFL-64A), former Majority Leader in the Minnesota House of Representatives and DFL candidate for governor, announced that Former Minnesota Secretary of State Joan Growe, the first woman to win statewide office in Minnesota, has endorsed her candidacy. This endorsement adds to the over 60 state and local leaders who have endorsed Murphy and organizational endorsements from the Minnesota Nurses Association, WomenWinning, NARAL, the DFL Latino Caucus, the DFL Disability Caucus, and the state and Twin Cities chapters of Our Revolution.
“It is a true honor to receive the support of Joan Growe, a trail blazer in Minnesota politics,” said Rep. Murphy. “She has been a champion for election integrity and has worked tirelessly to elect women to serve in public office. I admire her accomplished career and leadership and could not be prouder to have her endorsement.”
“Erin is the most qualified to be our next governor,” said Growe, Former Minnesota Secretary of State. “From her 12 years in the legislature and her time as Majority Leader, she has the experience and knowledge needed to execute the functions of the office. But it’s her heart, her connection to the people, and her unmatched work ethic that will make her an effective and tireless leader for the people. She’s the one best positioned to win on November 6 and begin the work of governing on November 7. I enthusiastically endorse Erin for governor.”
